Our remodeled and comfortable lodge; a private airstrip for chartered flights; exceptional food, drink and hospitality; and hard-working, skilled guides all make the experience at Jurassic Lake Lodge unforgettable for our guests, but none of that would matter if the fishing wasn’t so consistently incredible. It is the Lodge’s perfect location that provides our guests with exclusive access to this amazing trophy trout fishery.
Jurassic Lake Lodge was the first dedicated fishing program developed on Strobel Lake. Because of this, we were able to secure access to all of the most productive water for our guests. The Lodge is located near the mouth of the Barrancoso River, on a protected bay of Strobel Lake. The Barrancoso is the lake’s only major tributary and huge trout move through this food rich portion of the lake all season long. From the Lodge it is only a short walk, or a brief drive, to some of the best rainbow trout fishing anywhere in the world. Our catch rates and the size of fish is unmatched.
The majority of the Barrancoso River and the very best shoreline waters of Strobel Lake are on our property. Our guests enjoy private access to these waters and rotate through these premier beats without any other competition for space. Join us next season and see it for yourself. Direct charter flight from El Calafate
Getting to Jurassic Lake Lodge has never been easier. Every Saturday morning our exclusive charter service departs from El Calafate. The flight to our private airstrip at the Lodge only takes an hour. There are several flights daily between Buenos Aires and El Calafate.

If the regular Saturday flight from El Calafate doesn’t fit your itinerary, it is easy to make other arrangements. Every season since we built our airstrip, we’ve helped anglers fishing in Bariloche, Esquel, Tierra del Fuego or anywhere else in Patagonia, arrange private charter flights to and from the Lodge.
Ground transfer from El Calafate

If the chartered flights don’t work for your schedule, ground transportation to the Lodge from the city of El Calafate is easy to arrange. In fact, for many years, it was the only way in and out of the Lodge! The drive takes about seven hours. There are several flights joining Buenos Aires and El Calafate every day. It is also possible to make custom driving arrangements from any other location in Patagonia if that is required.
